Never lower your standards just because you are lonely.
Too often, we become so aloof that we lose our sense of understanding who are actually good for us. That’s when we try to mingle with each and every person in life without trying to identify whether or not they are good for our mental health.
It is important to understand that in the urgency of finding people around you, one should not lose the ability to make the right choices. You must have a standard, and should be able to stay with people who would not disappoint you later on in your life.
When you make friends with others, you should maintain your own reality instead of trying to please them just because you want to keep them in your life.
Do not lower your standards, for you can do that on a temporary basis but you won’t be able to maintain it for a longer span of time, and that will build grudges afterward.
It is better to be friends with your own self instead of staying around the wrong people. Stay alone, that’s better for that will not give you any sort of additional headache at the end of the day.
We often want to get ourselves surrounded by people and that’s when we act out of our own comfort zone. We even try to pretend as if we are just like them. Know that you cannot retain it for a longer period of time and that does not make any sense either.
Therefore, if ever you are trying to make friends and mingle with others, be the real ‘you’ and the right ones will definitely admire you for being that way.
You ought to understand that it is always better to have an empty room rather than keeping a monkey in it for that will not help you maintain your mental peace anyway.
Be wise enough in deciding the people with whom you want to be, and only after you are sure, go with them.
Know that when you stay with someone, you have certain similarities between you and that individual. That’s when you have topics to have your conversations upon, and you love being with them.
If your standards do not match, you will have different opinions and those differences will eventually ruin the bindings you share!
