All of us have dreams as children. We see different things around us and many of those dreams turn into a passion. We start following our passions as well. But a lot of times, we feel that our dreams are not practical and will not give us the life that is defined to be good.
But here is the key – do not think that your passion has to be around something that has been defined by others. These societal norms do not benefit anyone, but we are pressurized to fit into them. When you grow up, you will regret that you should have given what you wanted a shot.
The people who create the norms will not stand by you if you need them. Only your close quarters will. Therefore, consult them when required and follow your dreams. Be prepared to face obstacles. Be prepared to push your boundaries. Be prepared to work harder than you could have imagined.
If you do not build or pursue your dream, then you will find yourself working for someone who has built theirs. You will then think and wish that had you not let your passion go, life might have turned out to be very different.
Pursuing one’s dreams requires courage and resilience. Cultivate within yourself the strength to see yourself through the journey you have chosen for yourself.
It is not really wrong or anyway unacceptable to work for someone else but do make sure that your goals are aligned. The purposes being served are the same. It will enable you to contribute better and be content in life.
