To conquer oneself is a greater victory than to conquer thousands in a battle. – Dalai Lama

The world has seen many battles since the starting point of human civilization. There were thousands killed in these battles. Only World Wars have killed millions. However, even after all those wars and collateral damages came with it. The people of the world haven’t stopped thinking about war.

However, one thing, our influential leaders of countries worldwide does not realize is that, if you can win the heart of people you love, empathy, compassion, you are going to stay in their hearts.

But, if you instead choose to war, you might be able to conquer thousands of people at once with that, but the people you kill in order to win that place, their friends and relatives, will never stand by your side if someone else come for you again.

The numbers do not always measure winning. Sometimes, it depends on how have you fought, or how have you won it. If you are fighting a war, the damages will be greater, and the mark you leave on the people will not be deep or lasting. You may win the war, but you will never get the right support from the people.

But when you love someone with all you have, the sympathy, love, empathy, compassion, the victory of yours, conquering someone’s heart will leave a deep effect in the person’s heart. That will make you stay there forever. So, it is always better to conquer oneself with love than to conquer thousands in a battle.
