The goal is not to be better than the other man, but your previous self. – Dalai Lama XIV

People in this new age are pretending like we all are running in a rat-race. We don’t know who started the race; we don’t know where it will end; we are just running forward, trying to be better than the man running in front of us.

We always want to leave behind the people in front of us. We are running blindly and restlessly in that race. However, little did we realize that the only competition we have in this whole world is the person we see while standing in front of the mirror.

And, if we want to achieve success truly, then we have to become better than the last version of us, we were yesterday.

So, when you want to do good in your life, don’t look at what others are doing. Instead of that, only concentrate on the things you can do to be better than what you were yesterday.

This quote refers to that direction because we all are different from others. We do not have the same dream, we do not have the same mentality; the only similarity between us is that all of us are human.

So, when we don’t even have the same dream to achieve, how can we be in the same race? Thus, the only competition we have in this whole world is the last version of ourselves. Thus, try to make yourself better than yesterday.
