God has created lands with lakes and rivers for man to live, and the desert so that he can find his soul. Yes, it is rightly said that God has given us everything that we need to survive on this land, and the beautiful landscape is a clear example of the same.
However, the desert is also a part of the same earth, and he has created it with a purpose so that man can find his soul over there. The desert is devoid of all the beautiful creatures. It is way different from the rest of the landscapes that are beautifully adorned by hills, rivers, lakes, and all other structures.
The desert is meant to assure that even if nothing beautiful is there, you can still find some peace out there. It is too far away from the hustle-bustle of city life. The desert helps us find our own selves, somewhere away from the hustles of regular lives.
It is God’s way of making distinctions. The above adage is just a way to demonstrate the reality of life. We may see a lot of amazing creatures around us, but if we ever feel the urge to attain “nirvana,” we need to go away from all the mess, somewhere that lies far from the chaos to find our own souls.
